It’s been more than a year – since February 2020 to be exact, but Maine’s High School State Track and Field Championships held on Saturday, June 5, marked the first time a state postseason running event took place in the state since the arrival of COVID-19. The changes to this year’s format included a reduction from 32 to 24 athletes in each event and three sites being utilized.

Class A - Massebesic High, Waterboro

In girls Class A action, the story of the day was senior Victoria Bossong of Cheverus as she picked up three golds. She won the 100 dash in a class record time of 11.81, the 800 in a class record time of 2:10.66, and the 400 (55.08), resetting her own class record from 2019.
