Four members of Mooresville’s track program picked up All-American honors over the weekend’s Nike Indoor Nationals meet.
Patrick Campbell, Nathan Craig, Josh Cox and Joseph Newman finished sixth in the 1,600-meter relay. The top six in the 15-team event earned All-American distinction.
The quartet finished second in their heat against the best relay teams in the nation and then sweated out the second heat.
“Everybody’s really excited,” Blue Devils coach Mike Serefine said. “We had a good run and then waited to see the results of second heat. Everybody was on edge there for a little while.”
Jamel Allison (triple jump), Campbell (3,200-meter run), Jake Deaton (shot put) and Tyrell Sutton (high jump) also qualified individually.
